Wage for an Journeyman
For many employees, a Construction Wireman (CW) is their first role in the trade. We’ll teach you the skills you need in order to become a great CW. Your responsibilities include basic wiring, pulling cable, bending conduit, and the installation of electrical components.
Wages: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour (based on experience)
Eligible for Overtime
Health and Welfare: $6.35 per hour (paid by the company)
Membership with the IBEW

Construction Electricians (CE) are experienced electricians who specialize in installing, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems based on plans and specifications provided by the electrical engineer or designer.
Wages: $17.86 – $24.66 per hour per hour (based on experience)
Eligible for Overtime
Health and Welfare: $6.35 per hour (paid by the company)
Membership with the IBEW
Additional Benefits Provided
An Apprenticeship Program combines on-the-job experience with classroom instruction. Those accepted into the program work under the supervision of experienced electricians, gain hands-on experience and learn the skills and knowledge needed to become a Journeyman Electrician.
Wages: $15 – $30 per hour (based on experience)
Eligible for Overtime
Health and Welfare: $10.35 per hour (paid by the company)
Retirement: $3.95 – $7.66 per hour (paid by the company)
Education Benefits: Earn an Associate’s Degree at no cost to the employee

Additional Benefits Provided
A Journeyman Electrician is a skilled tradesperson who has the knowledge and ability to work independently on electrical systems. In many cases, a Journeyman is also responsible for supervising other electricians and providing training to apprentices.
Wages: $37.50 per hour
Eligible for Overtime
Health and Welfare: $10.35 per hour (paid by the company)
Retirement: $9.87 per hour (paid by the company)

Additional Benefits Provided
A Foreman is a supervisor who is responsible for overseeing the work of a team of electricians. They typically work on developing a project plan, coordinating across the job site, ordering materials, and managing the budget.
Wages: $41.25 per hour
Eligible for Overtime
Health and Welfare: $10.35 per hour (paid by the company)
Retirement: $9.87 per hour (paid by the company)
Membership with the IBEW
Additional Benefits Provided
A General Foreman is responsible for overseeing the work of multiple teams of electricians on a construction project. In addition to the duties of a Foreman, a General Foreman is responsible for ensuring that a project is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety regulations and building codes.
Wages: $46.88 per hour
Eligible for Overtime
Health and Welfare: $10.35 per hour (paid by the company)
Retirement: $9.87 per hour (paid by the company)

A Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) specialist is responsible for using tools to create detailed 3D models of electrical systems, allowing designers and contractors to visualize and plan the installation of electrical components.
Wages: $18.00 – $62.50 per hour (based on role)
