What is Virtual Design & Construction?

BIM designers use BIM software to create digital models of buildings and facilities. These models are used to plan out construction projects before breaking ground. They can also be used as a reference during and after the project. BIM designers help construction companies:

Visualize Buildings

Having a digital model of a building is extremely valuable when planning a construction project. BIM designers create these models and help other members of the team use them before, during, and after a project.

Schedule Construction

BIM designers can use their models to track construction progress, improve processes, and reduce waste. BIM designers make construction teams more efficient and reduce unnecessary risks.

Estimate Costs

When you have a virtual model of a building, it’s much easier to estimate its costs. Seeing all of the individual elements involved in a complex project makes the cost estimation process less abstract.

Improve Collaboration

BIM designers facilitate collaboration between the different members of a construction team. Digital building models can be shared by architects, engineers, foremen, contractors, and other construction professionals before, during, and after each project.
